Annual Cedar Hedge Trimming
During maintenance trimming (recommended to be done every year), dead or broken branches will be removed. Additionally, healthy branches will be cut by one-third (and even up to half), which will help your cedars gain density during their seasonal growth.
This annual hedge trimming will give shape to it. It is suggested to trim the top so that it is rounded and narrower than the bottom, so that the sun can reach all branches. Moreover, in winter, snow and ice will not bend the upper branches if the top is rounded. Upon request, our hedge trimming technicians will add cedar fertilizer after this annual maintenance trimming.
If your hedge has been planted for less than 3 years, the annual maintenance trimming will consist of cutting the branches on the sides, allowing the hedge to grow upwards and densify. The base is kept wider than the top.
